Huguenot Community Run Race Results from 2008

DIRECTIONS AND PARKING:  From 299 in the center of New Paltz, take 32 North/North Chestnut Street, then take a left onto Broadhead Street.  You can park in the lot on the left, the nursery school lot on the right, or the Reformed Church parking lot on Huguenot Street.

REGISTRATION:  Will begin at 4:30 pm in the Nursery School parking lot, 92 Huguenot Street.  Even those that are pre-registered will need to sign in prior to the race.

ENTRY FEE:  $12 if you pre-register, $15 if you register the day of the race.  $5 for kids under 13.

COURSE:  It's a 5K race which starts on Broadhead Street near the Huguenot Historical Society.  It proceeds left on historic Huguenot Street towards Main Street, left on Main Street, then left onto the Rail Trail.  Proceed on the Rail Trail to Old Kingston Road.  There will be a turnaround there and the race will continue back on scenic Huguenot Street to the finish line.

FUN RUN:  There will be lots of activities for children.  Specifically a FUN RUN, which will take place immediately following the 5K run.  It will be held on the athletic field adjacent to the Nursery School playground.  All children are winners as medals will handed out to all who participate in the run.  Children's activities are free.

PRIZES:  Prizes will be awarded to the overall fastest male and female runners as well as the top 3 runners in each age group.

FOOD:  Hot dog supper and refreshments will be served to all registered participants.

IN ADDITION:  Mike's Hothouse Flowers will host a spring plant sale the evening of the race in the school parking lot.  Just in time for Mother's Day!!  A raffle with great prizes will also be held.  The New Paltz Police Department will be on hand for Child Safety Seat Checks.  The Town of Ulster Police Department will offer Operation Safe Child ID cards.
